Milestones for a pair of nonprofits
The Weston Craft Show in Vermont celebrates its 25th anniversary as the showcase for the state's talented crafts artists. In Boston, the Society of Arts and Crafts adds a new holiday craft show to its list of achievements.
Breaking into new directions
Cambridge glass artist Peter Houk wins one of three Artists Awards at the Society of Arts and Crafts in Boston. For the the awards exhibit, he shows familiar blown glass and work that goes in new directions.
A passion for perfection

New Hampshire potter Hideaki Miyamura masters new forms and formulates original glazes as he creates his own identity building on what he learned after six years as an apprentice with a master potter in Japan.
Metal and wool jewelry
Influenced by fiber art, Maine jewelry artist Cara Romano combines felted wool and sterling silver for eye-catching necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings.
